Trek To Indrahar Pass

It is a beautiful walk through mixed forests of the deodar, oak and rhododendron. Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of whole Kangra valley on one side and Dhauladhar mountain range on the other side. The first 2 km is a steep ascent, but there is a gradual rise after Galu Devi temple. The last 1 km is again a steep ascent through the forest. Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge. From here one can witness the panoramic view of Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra valley on the other is a memorable sight. Overnight stay in tents.

We start our Trek early, to make sure we reach the top before it gets dark and to get mesmerised by that heavenly sunset. The Triund Trek is a moderate level Trek. Maiden Trekkers would take about 3-4 hours uphill Trek to hit the camps hyphened with halts. However, it’d be even better whenwe take our time appreciating the excellent trail. We reach Triund top before the sunset. We are sure you all will be spending quite a few years clicking pictures all around.Later we begin the night under the cover of stars. The night ends when we are out of stories around the campfire.☺

After Report at Manali, we will drive towards Kunzam Pass after crossing Rohtang Pass. Kunzam Pass (4590 mts) is a high mountain pass on the eastern Kunzam Range of the Himalayas some 122 km from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley and Lahaul Valley with the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is on the route to Kaza the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti. From Kunzam Pass, we will start our Trek to Chandratal which is around 9 kms and will take 4-5 hours to reach. Believe us, you are going to have a time of your life. Reach Chandra Tal later in the evening. At night , stay at camps and yes! It isn’t complete without bonfire and lots of games and chit chats.

Reach Mcleodganj early in the morning by 0900 am; we will take you to a guest house for freshening up and quick tea/coffee.Later we will begin the Kareri Lake trek, and in its first phase, hike to the camp at Kareri Village. The climb is not difficult at all, and will take you through dense but beautiful pine jungles. As you tread along the trail for 4-5 hours, you will pass by some small villages. Most of the journey involves trekking down the mountains, and only the last part has some climbing. The village you are walking towards is atop a ridge, and has an altitude of around 5905 feet
