Itinerary

Day 1Dehradun-to-Sankri drive

Prince Chown, next to the railway station, is the reporting location (Dehradun)
Daily reporting hours are from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

Sankri is located on National Highway 123, and the journey there is well worth it. Driving 200 kilometres (via Mussoorie) would take you from Dehradun to Sankri, passing through some stunning landscapes and forests.
Before arriving at Sankri, hikers will discover rich flora and stunning vistas of the Himalayas approximately 22 kilometres away. Nearby lies Govind National Park, which is well-known for its profusion of flora. There are certain rare species of plants in this park that are unique to the nation.

Day 2Sankri-to-Juda ka Talab Trek

You will walk to 9,100-foot Juda Ka Talab on day 2. By afternoon, you should have covered 5km, though this will depend on the trekker’s fitness.
Prepare yourself for a thrilling variety of novel experiences as you travel the trail. While trekking, ice and slush may cause disruptions, but Madtrek Adventure’s guides will assist you.
The journey starts in a forest of pine and maple, then ascends past fields and wildlife. You will see huts in the fields as you rise.
Trekking offers views of beautiful pine and oak forests on one side and a goliath lake on the other. The lake is surrounded by lukewarm water; the surrounding water is colder.
Ice takes the place of water in the winter and is a stunning sight. There is a natural tunnel beneath this lake that provides water to nearby settlements.

On your adventure, you will cross bridges and come upon Himalayan Languor. Seldom do we come upon these wary creatures.
There are martens, hares, and boars in this area. You’ll stay in a camp where you can take in the scenery for the night.

Day3Trekking from Juda-ka-Talab to the base of Kedarkantha (Lohasu)

The sight of a sunrise first thing in the morning will take your breath away. We’ll go for Kedar Kantha Base, which is 3,400 metres (11,250 feet) above sea level, the next day.
Over 4 miles separate Jadu Ka Talab from Kedar Kantha Base, and travelling that distance at a fast pace takes 2.5 hours. You should be aware that Jadu Ka Talab is a stunning lake surrounded by pine trees that frequently freezes in the winter and serves as a destination for hikers seeking challenges and fun activities.
The trail will progressively steepen as you ascend higher. As your walk leader explains you several strategies for getting through snowy areas, pay close attention.

He could also give you advice on how big to make your steps.
Once more, you’ll start your walk among a dense stand of oak and pine trees. Between the rock faces, too, the trail meanders. You will start to see snow tracks at 10,400 feet, which will take you to some of the most beautiful natural panoramas on the planet.
All hikers can enjoy the amazing views of multiple snow-covered arc-shaped mountains, such as Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Swargarohini, and Ranglana, which proudly stand in the lap of Mother Nature, before they even reach the base camp.
We’ll be serving dinner tonight only in the cosiness of your tents.

Day4Early Morning trek from Kedarkantha's base to its summit and back down to Juda-Ka-Talab camp

On day 4, you will be ascending Kedar Kantha, so be prepared for a hard day. Over the course of seven hours, you will walk over six kilometres today—from 12,500 feet to 11,250 feet. You should know that this will make the trail more difficult.
Hiking offers breathtaking vistas of multiple mountain ranges, including the Rupin, as well as breathtaking natural scenery. The peak was nicknamed Kedar Kantha according to local tradition, which claims that while builders were trying to build the Kedarnath temple atop the summit, they were stopped by the sound of an animal, which is considered to be an auspicious omen of approaching divine intervention.

They worked on Shiva’s statue until they reached his neck, which is known as a Kanth in Hindi. Shiva is known by numerous titles, one of which is Kedar. Because of this, we call it Kedarkantha.
Seeing the sights of Bandarpooch, Kalanaag, Swargarohini, Gangotri, and Yamunotri is highly recommended from Kedar Kantha. After you reach the summit, the amazing view will leave you in amazement and assist you in regaining emotional balance. That same day, we’ll start the trek back to Juda-Ka-Talab camp.
The campgrounds, where you will spend the night, offer breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and surrounding landscape.

Day5Trek from JUda-Ka-Talab camp to Sankri and departure from Sankri to Dehradun

You will walk down from Biskeri Thach on this day. The trail may have fences in places and has some steep sections.
You will cross a stream and thick trees on your journey to Pulga settlement.
After arriving in Pulga, proceed to Barshaini village by way of the Parvati River bridge.
The adventure’s base camp, Kasol, awaits your return following your completion of the Sar Pass hike.
You can finish the hike and head out of Kasol once you get there.

Hikers will begin their descent from Juda-Ka-Talab Camp to Sankri on day five. We will be descending to an elevation of 6400 feet from our starting point of 8900 feet. Hiking the 6.2-kilometer track at a leisurely pace will take you at least 4 hours.
We’re heading back to Sankri today, so it’s time to say goodbye to the magnificent Himalayas and other snow-capped mountain ranges. The trip shouldn’t be too taxing on you because there aren’t many checkpoints along the way.
Following breakfast, you will gather your things and travel to Sankri via a paved path.

We’re heading back to Sankri today, so it’s time to say goodbye to the magnificent Himalayas and other snow-capped mountain ranges. The trip shouldn’t be too taxing on you because there aren’t many checkpoints along the way.
On day six, it will take roughly ten hours to cover the 220 kilometres between Sankri and Dehradun. You will travel early from Sankri and reach late in the afternoon in Dehradun.
It is best to arrive in Dehradun between 7 and 8 evening, so you can arrange a ride back home.
Make sure you gather your memories on the way back to Dehradun.

Travellers face a variety of challenges on the ascent to this mountain pass in Uttarakhand, which is located 12,500 feet above sea level. We have the perfect excursion in the unspoiled environment if you’re looking for it—the Winter Snow Trek. This walk will take you through lush pastures, deep woodlands and even snow routes.

You should be aware of Kedarkantha Summit because it is situated within the Govind Wildlife National Sanctuary Park in Uttarkashi. This magnificent hill is surrounded by a number of lovely river valleys, one of which being the upper valley of Garhwal, which is home to a community that has lived in this region since the time of the Mahabharata. The best winter snow trek in India is Kedarkantha, which is manageable for beginners. Everyone should at least once experience this Himalayan journey. The greatest time to travel is during the heaviest snowfall, which occurs between the first week of November and the last week of April. Snow starts to blanket the stunning campsites on the Kedarkantha hike around about mid-November.

It’s true that each walk in the Himalayas has its own special appeal. On a hike, you could experience a dose of nature that you just cannot receive in the city, and you might challenge your physical and mental limits. There aren’t many hikes in the Himalayas that will compel you to witness the unadulterated splendour of nature. From snow-capped summits to verdant forests and ice lakes to an incredibly tasty top, it has everything a hiker could ask for. The most demanding and gratifying portion of the journey is the ascent to the summit. You may see all of these sites from the base camp of Sankri at the bottom to the peak at the top.
